The action of binding metal ions in substances, thus supporting a more stable formula.

emollient

Skin moisturizing/conditioning agent.

emulsifier

Ingredient that helps water and oil-based ingredients blend together.

emulsion

Mixture of oil and water in a consistent, non-separated form.

humectant

Water attracting agent that draws moisture into the skin.

perservative

Ingredient that helps to maintain product efficacy, safety, and shelf stability by preventing the growth of bacteria in the formula.

The measurment of a substance's ability to flow --think viscosity/ texture.
